Kinikanwo Amadi, an ex-Supervisory Councillor in Obio/Akpor Local Government Council of Rivers State, has been allegedly stabbed to death by Ihuoma Amadi over a nonconcurrence that had for about one month dawdled without compromise from both parties.
It was gathered that this happened at Nkpolu-Rumuigbo near Port Harcourt, although details of the incident are still unclear.
The former Supervisory Councilor’s political associate and friend, took to his Facebook page to mourn his premature death with pictures of his lifeless body. One of the pictures showed that the victim was punctured on his abdomen, chest, and arms, several times.
The deceased’s picture, which flooded social media, indicated that the Late Amadi was rushed to the hospital. Stitches were seen on many parts of his corpse in the hospital as physicians and health workers struggled to resuscitate him in vain.
A family member of the victim who pleaded anonymity explained that the suspect, Ihuoma Amadi, had called her own husband around 10:00 p.m. in the night over the controversy that broke out between the couple.
“At past 10:00p.m. Ihuoma called my husband to tell him that ‘Skin’ is disturbing her, that he (my husband) should come. It was late, so my husband was a bit reluctant to leave the house,” the female relative stated.
“Around 11:00 p.m. a man rushed to our house to inform my husband that his brother is seriously bleeding and needs help. When we got there he was already being taken to the hospital. When I asked the woman what happened, she said the man broke a beer bottle and while they were trying to retrieve it from him, the bottle touched him.”
Clinton Amadi, the deceased man’s brother, described the ugly incident as startling and called on youths in the area to be calm and allow the law to take its course.
“The whole thing came to me as a shock. I was called that my brother had been stabbed. Before I got there, he was already in Coma. He is dead and in the mortuary. He has been having problems with his wife for a while now. I called the police and they have also come,” he said.
Nnamdi Omoni, the Police Public Relations Officer Rivers State Command, when contacted, confirmed the incident but added that he does not have details of the gruesome incident.
