Village head suspended, nabbed for beating wife to death in Bauchi

A retired Assistant Superintendent of Police, who is equally the head of Sabon Layi Kwara village, ASP Daniel Salka, has been apprehended for allegedly beating his wife to death in Bauchi State.
Daniel is the head of Sabon Layi hamlet in Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The Chairman of the Local Government Area Council in a statement issued on Monday, Iliya Habila, said the former police officer had been suspended over alleged violence that led to the death of his wife, Hajara Daniel.
The statement was signed by the Director of Administration and General Services, Marcus Nehemiah, on behalf of the LGA chairman.
“The suspension is with immediate effect pending the outcome of an investigation by the police.
He said, “Mr. Daniel Salka is alleged to have beaten his wife, the late Mrs. Hajara, to death on April 19, 2021. He was arrested by the combined team of vigilantes and DSS officials on April 26, 2021, in the Bayara suburb and has since been handed over to the police in Bogoro.”
