Unknown Gunmen Abduct Royal Father in Kogi

The Police Command in Kogi State, on Friday, confirmed the kidnap of Shaibu Usman, a first-class Monarch, and traditional ruler.

The Royal Father, Usman is currently the acting Eje of Ankpa, Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State.

It was gathered that the Monarch was reportedly abducted at about 5:30 am on Friday while making his way into the Mosque to observe his early morning prayers and worship.

Despite that the captors’ of the Traditional Ruler are yet to make any contact with the immediate family, Ayuba Ede, the Kogi State Police Commissioner, who confirmed the goosebumps incident, disclosed that the police have cordoned all entry and exit points into the state, with the view to ensure the rescue of the Monarch.

The Commissioner said, the kidnappers laid invaded the mosque, and immediately whisked away from the Royal Father to an unidentified destination.

Kingsley Fanwo, the Commissioner of Information and Communication stated that efforts are on top gear to ensure that the Monarch is safely redeemed.

Fanwo said, “The State Government is working with security agencies to ensure his release.”

“The Kogi State Government has also put machinery in motion to ensure even more stringent security network during this yuletide.

“The people of Ankpa should remain calm as the government is on top of the situation. We remain committed to the security of lives and property,” he added.
