Police in Adamawa apprehend 3 members of the famous ‘Shilla Boys’ gang

The Nigeria Police Yola Command on Thursday confirmed the arrest of three members of a notorious gangster, simply identified as “Shilla Boys”.
This was contained in a statement issued out by Sulaiman Nguroje, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and Adamawa State Police Command Public Relations Officer.
DSP Nguroje revealed that the suspects were between the ages of 18 and 35 years respectively, and had been terrorizing residents with dangerous weapons in some parts of Yola North Local Government Area Council of Adamawa State.
He said that the hoodlums usually disguised as commercial tricycles operators to rob innocent road users of their belongings
He stated that the police gathered an intelligent report about the suspicious movement of members of the gang at a hermitage in Ngurore town on January 20, 2021.
He said, “The Police Command immediately deployed its operatives and successfully arrested three members of the Shilla boys.”
DSP Nguroje listed items recovered from the suspects to include the following: one tricycle, knives, and cutlasses.
He said the suspects were being investigated for criminal conspiracy and armed robbery and would be charged to court as soon as they completed the investigation.
The Police Spokesman commended the citizens for their cooperation and support, and called for more partnership and collaboration with the police, especially in the area of providing them with quality and adequate information needed for them to perform their duties creditably and unflinchingly.
