Police arrest 20yrs lad for abducting father & collecting N2m ransom

Nigeria Police Abuja Command has apprehended Abubakar Amodu, a 20-year-old young man for conspiring with hooligans to abduct his father and collect N2,000,000 ransom from him.
The 20-year-old Amodu was one among the 25 suspects paraded on Wednesday by CP Frank Mba, the Nigeria Police Force FCT Command Public Relations Officer, for various crimes in Abuja and its environs.
The suspect, who was apprehended with other members of the gang, disclosed to newsmen that his father was a cattle rearer and owner, adding that he gave him 15 cows as his child.
“I became friends with the members of the gang, who told me that my father was rich, and he should be kidnapped for money,” said Amodu.
“After we kidnapped my father, he paid N2m and I was given N200,000 as my share.”
One Abubakar Liyu, a security guard at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, who always work with abductors to kidnap lecturers in the university community was equally paraded.
He confessed to the crime and revealed that he took part in the kidnapping of three lecturers in the institution.
Liyu said for the abductions of two lecturers, he was paid N30,000 but for the last kidnap operation, he got nothing.
Another suspect, Friday Domozu from Kogi State was equally paraded for leading a gang that abducted and gruesomely murdered Farida Ibrahim, a five-year-old girl in Dekina, Local Government Area Council of Kogi State.
They had demanded N8m ransom from the victim’s family, who could not afford it, and they killed her in cold blood.
Farida was cruelly murdered and buried in a shallow grave before the police arrested the suspects.
The Nigeria Police Force also paraded members of a gang who killed an Immigration officer, his sister, and his wife in June last year.
