According to Maj. Gen. Enenche, the Military Forces had on December 20 responded to a distress call on bandits’ activities in the area and engaged them squarely.

“Troops swiftly mobilized to the identified location where they had contact and engaged the criminals in the firefight.

“During the encounter, troops overwhelmed the bandits and killed one of them, while others fled with various degrees of gunshot wounds.

“Troops recovered an AK-47 rifle and a magazine loaded with four rounds of 7.62mm Special Ammunition from the criminal elements,” he said.

The Coordinator said that Forces equally swooped a bandits’ hideout at Abako community while acting on intelligence reports on activities of remnants of the late Gana’s militia gangs in parts of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of the state.

He added that troops during the encounter nabbed and handed over two bandits to the police for prosecution and further actions.
