Nigeria Forces eliminate 5 terrorists, sustain blitz in Borno

Nigeria Military Forces of Operation Tura Takaibango have killed five  Boko Haram/Islamic States West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in their effort to capture Abbagajiri and Dusula communities in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Acting Director, Defence Media Operations, Brig.-Gen. Bernard Onyeuko stated that the Military Forces had sustained an offensive against the terrorist group in the North-East.

Brig.-Gen. Onyeuko disclosed that the troops of the 402 Special Forces Task Force Brigade had on Wednesday, trailed and encircled some terrorists’ concealments at Abbagajiri and inflicted heavy casualties on the hooligans.

According to the military media Chief, five Boko Haram terrorists were neutralized while few others are believed to have escaped with various degrees of gunshot injuries in the corollary of the aggressive encounter.

He revealed that the military troops equally captured one Pulemyot Kalashnikova Tankovyy(PKT) gun, three AK-47 rifles, four extra AK-47 rifle magazines, and a vulcanizing machine.

Brig.-Gen. Onyeuko added that foodstuffs, some Improvised Explosive Device (IED) making materials including the criminals’ hermitages and clothing among others were also captured and destroyed.

The military media Chief said the renewed onslaught against everything that is remaining of Boko Haram/ISWAP hoodlums by the military officers was a sign of the end of every criminal activity within the North-East.

Troops of Operation Tura Takaibango are highly commended for their dedication and determination to ensure that they wipe out remnants of the terrorists from their hermitages, he opined.

“They are also encouraged not to relent but build on the successes recorded.

“The entire populace of the North-East region are hereby assured of the Nigerian Army’s renewed vigor and determination to crush the remnants of Boko Haram/Islamic State’s West Africa Province criminals from their enclaves in this zone,” he said.
