Life and Legacy of Nizami Gandjavi, Women’s History Month Roundtable

On March 17, St. Patrick’s Day, Republic Underground News, Timberwolf Phoenix LLC,  and the Caucasus Journalist Network, will host a roundtable event for women’s history month. The event’s theme will focus on the life and legacy of Nizami Gandjavi. Irina Tsukerman, Republic Underground media vp, will moderate.

The Head of the Department of Azerbaijani Oral Folk Art, Faculty of Philology, will feature at the event.

The event will be held at 12pm Eastern Standard Time (New York) which is 21:00 Baku.

“The next @RepublicUnderRoundtable, coming up March 17 at noon EST/2100 Baku time will focus on the great #Azerbaijani cultural figure, Nazimi Ganjavi, and discuss multicultural claims to his legacy, Sufi influences over his work, and relevance to everyone today,” tweeted Irina Tsukerman, regarding the event, on March 14 at 3:27pm. 

Nizami Ganjavi is regarded as “a great sage” of Azerbaijani history. March 12 marked the day of commemoration for the folk figure.
