A Nigerian 24-hour television news channel, TVC News, part of Continental Broadcasting Service Nigeria Ltd, an organization owned by the former governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been razed down by the fire.
The holocaust started this morning while a live show of the studio was ongoing.
It was gathered that the unidentified thugs besieged the entrance of TVC in the Ikosi-Ketu area of Lagos and attempted to break into the broadcast station.
“Thugs are at the entrance of TVC. They are trying to burn it. Smoke is now coming out,” an eyewitness told newsmen.
The inferno affected the broadcast of the station on Wednesday morning as programs were not aired for several minutes of the day.
According to Alkasim Abdulkadir, a Communications Expert, the hosts had raised an alarm.
Abdulkadir tweeted: “watching TVC, the anchors frantically said there were thugs at their gate trying to break into the premises”.
The incident followed the killing of peaceful protesters on Tuesday by security operatives in some parts of Lagos including the Lekki Toll Gate area.
Many people believe that Tinubu had a hand in the deployment of soldiers to attack and kill young Nigerians demanding an end to police brutality and extrajudicial killings in the country.
