Gunmen kill business mogul, kidnap another in Aba

Unknown gunmen have killed in cold blood a business mogul, while another was abducted in Aba, the commercial city of Abia State, during the weekend.
According to reports, Matthew Amaiheuno, a popular cement dealer was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in front of his better half and daughter.
A bag containing a large chunk of money was reportedly hijacked from the family by the hoodlums.
In another development, a businessman whose name was not ascertained as at the time of filing this report was seized and whisked away by five men wielding sophisticated weapons.
A source who pleaded anonymity revealed that the man was trailed by his assailants to Obikabia-Umukalika Road, where he was eventually kidnapped.
It was gathered that the cement dealer who hailed from Mbieri in Imo State was later murdered a few meters away from his shop after he had closed for the daily business activities.
“The man was going back to his house from his shop when the gunmen, who had been waiting for him, accosted them and demanded that the wife hand over a bag to them.
“The man attempted struggling with them and was shot in the head in front of his wife and child. The attackers snatched the bag containing a huge sum of money from them.
“He was rushed to some private hospitals and clinics, but they rejected him. The man’s life could have been saved if the man was attended to immediately because he was still breathing by the time he was taken to the hospital,” the source explained.
Meanwhile, a police source confirmed the report but stated that no formal report has been made concerning the ugly incident.
