Six other bandits, on Monday, relinquished 28 AK 47 rifles, with 27 magazines, and General Machine Gun to Zamfara State Government.
Over one week ago, six contrite bandits submitted 14 rifles to the state government authorities promising to renounce every criminal activity including armed banditry and other forms of crimes which they were known for.
The penitent hoodlums, who took an oath by the Qur’an in Zamfara State Government House, declared that they would not go back to their old ways of life (banditry) again.
Auwalu Daudawa, the repentant criminals’ leader equally obliged to convince those who were yet to repent to do that without hesitation.
Bello Matawalle, the Zamfara State Government while receiving the repentant bandits, called on all the bandits to come out and accept the peace process initiated by his administration and promised to take care of all those who have agreed to live a good life.
The Governor said, “My administration would take proper care of all the bandits that have repented, and I will continue to dialogue with bandits to end banditry in the state.”
He prayed the people of the state, especially the politicians to assist his administration in its relentless efforts to wipe away banditry and other forms of crime facing the State.
