Amotekun Security Network apprehend 15 illegal gold miners in Ondo

Officials of the Ondo Security Network Agency generally identified as Amotekun Corps, have apprehended about 15 persons, for illegal mining of gold in the Owo Local Government Area Council of the state.
The suspected persons believed to hail from the northern part of Nigeria were said to have been arrested in about 50 different locations in the Local Government Area Council.
The suspects include the following persons: Kabiru Waheed, Shuaibu Yahaya, Habbi Usman, Mohammed Nurudeen, Ismaila Wahab, Mohammed Sulaman, Ali Mustapha.
Others consist of the following: Yahaya Danladi, Musa Zeehed, Gabbar Musa, Usman Kabiru, Sule Adamu, Abba Suleman, Zekeri, and Usman Ali.
Adetunji Adeleye, the State Commander of the Amotekun Corps, while reacting on the issue on the ground, confirmed that the arrest was part of the crackdown to put an end to crimes in the state by the state security agency.
The suspects were arrested by the Amotekun men, acting on intelligent gathering, in conjunction with native hunters who are working with the corps, according to the Amotekun Boss.
He stated that “The arrest took place at a forest reserve in Owo, it was in the course of the exercise we discovered the illegal mining locations. We noticed that they (the suspects) have gone far in 50 different locations where they were mining.”
