Abducted Nasarawa APC Chairman, Found Dead

The ruling party’s boss in the state was abducted from his home on Saturday night, according to the police.

The lifeless body of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC Chairman in Nasarawa State, Philip Shekwo, was on Sunday found dead, just a day after he was kidnapped in his residence by gunmen suspected to be bandits.

He was abducted on Saturday night by the unidentified gunmen, who raided his home along with Dunamis Church, Bukan Sidi in Lafia.

They were said to have engaged in a serious gun battle with security details attached to the victim before whisking him away to an unknown destination.

ASP Ramhan Nansel, the Nasarawa State Police Command Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident to newsmen.

ASP Nansel stated, “Yes, he is dead, his corpse has been removed and taken to the morgue for post mortem examination and investigation has begun to unravel the cause of the incident.”

An APC leader in Nasarawa, who pleaded anonymity, also confirmed the death of the party Chief.

At the time of filing this report, APC was yet to officially react to the kidnap and killing of their leader in the State.

The chairman of Karu local government, Samuel Akala, also confirmed the death of Mr. Shekwo on his Facebook page.

Recall that APC is the ruling national political party in Nigeria.
